Description
Main purpose
Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning his/her field of action and the team associated, according to organization values, policies and protocols and universal health standards, in order to warrant the quality and continuity of the health care and the development of the plan of action.
Accountabilities
Carry out the functions and tasks associated to his/her specialty, i.e. perform as a nurse whenever required or needed, in order to optimize the resources, contributing with his/her knowledge and experience.
Implement all the necessary protocols and hygiene procedures and make sure his/her team follows the same standards, in order to warrant the quality of care and service.
Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.). Evaluate their performance, provide feedback regularly and define the needs for training, in order to ensure the coverage of the human resources (HR) needs and maintain high standards of quality.
Carry out and/or coordinate administrative information and data collection (patient files, forms, statistics, etc.) tasks, and elaborate regular reporting, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activities, outcome and support decision making.
Give feedback/ reports to line-manager and respects the lines of communication.
Organization section/context - specific accountabilities
PHCC supervisor will supervise activities in a Primary health care centre in Beirut and those are the following:
Supervise flow in the department, minimize waiting times, ensure PHC-staff works as a team and is well informed about any relevant matter that influences normal daily activities. Identify issues and communicate possible solutions to line-manager.
Supervise triage system and patient flow through triage, ensure all priority patients are assessed quickly and seen by the doctor as a priority
Manage first-line all complaints from patients and general queries, liaise with line-manager if significant event.
Supervise proper storage and transport of samples to the laboratory and follow up of the results.
Supervise proper flow of instruments for sterilization.
Supervise a proper waste collection and management.
Check the bills for the external services required (lab tests,radio,etc..).
Data collection
Ensure timely sharing of data with external parties (MOH).
Actively contribute to compile the PHC monthly/Quarterly report.
Close collaboration with other departments in the organization in order to maintain quality of care, adequate patient-flow and cohesion in the PHC-team and with the other departments.
Inform the line-manager timely about any problem or complication regarding functioning of the department (material, complaints, people-management etc.)
Finance/ Accounting
Maintain a clear understanding of the patient payment process at the center, including how patients pay and who is responsible for collecting funds.
Ensure collected funds are properly tracked, reconciled, and reported to the central/head office in coordination with the Finance Department.
Training/meetings:
Attends or provides trainings and meetings when required. Ensure quality trainings within the department.
Behavior
Ensure respectful and emphatic attitude towards patients, caretakers and colleagues.
Commitment
Perform any other additional tasks given by the line-manager in order to allow the organization to function optimally.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related health field (minimum requirement).
License to practice By the Ministry of Public Health in Lebanon.
Membership at the Order of your specialty is a plus.
A Master's in Public Health (MPH) or Healthcare Management is a plus.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Healthcare field.
Primary health care or community health programs experience is a plus.
At least 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or team-lead position.
Language
Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written); knowledge of French is an asset.
Core Requirements/Skills
Strong knowledge of PHC standards, protocols, and national/international health guidelines (e.g., WHO, MoH standards)
Experience managing/supervising multi-disciplinary teams (nurses,Doctors, health workers, etc.)
Data management & reporting skills (M&E, health information systems)
Budget oversight or resource management experience
Strong communication skills, especially if coordinating with MoH, NGOs, or donors
Training/capacity-building experience.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in high-stress and resource-limited environments.
Essential computer literacy (word, excel, power point, internet, etc…)
